Reviewed by Jilles

The Daughter of Time - Josephine TeyThe Daughter of Time is still one of the most popular Jospehine Tey titles and was voted one of the greatest mystery novels of all time by the Crime Writers’ Association in 1990.

King_Richard_III_from_NPGInspector Alan Grant of Scotland Yard is recuperating from a broken leg and becomes fascinated with a contemporary portrait of Richard III (see left), one of the most notorious villains in history, best known for killing his nephews, the princes in the Tower. But could such a sensitive, noble-faced man actually be one of the world’s most heinous villains who killed his brother’s children to make his crown secure? Grant determines to find out once and for all, with the help of the British Museum and an American scholar, what kind of man Richard Plantagenet really was and who killed the princes.

The Daughter of Time is an original, amazingly plotted, and great tale full of suspense.
