The Dutch and their Delta: A talk and Q&A with author Jacob Vossestein ABC Treehouse - Thursday May 3rd, 19:00
Jacob Vossestein has published several books on Dutch culture and Dutch geography. On May 3rd, he will discuss how the geography of the Netherlands and the need for water control has influenced the everyday life, culture and customs of the Dutch. Examples range from practical... to philosophical and from folkloristic to modern. Besides Jacob’s own examples, the audience is invited to bring forward any ideas or questions they may have on the subject.
Author Jacob Vossestein, a geographer and anthropologist, provides great insight into the watery issues of the Netherlands. After years of working with people from abroad, he also knows precisely what related concerns both expats and overseas visitors have.
