Jitse sent in this great video (via VPRO) of graphic novelist Typex making his new comic Rembrandt, in honor of the reopening of the Rijksmuseum this month. We hope it will be as popular as Barbara Stok’s Vincent, but with such a glowing review from the Guardian, how can it not be?

Jitse would also like to direct you to the newly-published More Weird Things Customers Say in Bookshops. Yes, there’s a first Weird Things Customers Say in Bookshops, too. If you’ve ever worked in retail, these questions and remarks might sound familiar!
Not that ABC customers ever ask us any of these things, of course…

The Dutch national Audio Books Week is nearing its end, so Sophie wants to remind everyone reading this that ABC The Hague has an Audio Books section! Current highlights include The Diary of Anne Frank, The Dinner, Lean In, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, Game of Thrones, Why Nations Fail and Let’s Explore Diabetes with Owls.
She also wants to remind you that we have intra-store shipping twice a week, so we can send any of these titles to ABC Amsterdam for you.

Last Friday ABC The Hague hosted a book presentation of the brand-new City Trail guide The Hague and the Best of the Netherlands. Almost 40 people attended it, including The Hague’s mayor Jozias van Aartsen. He arrived a little tardy (by bike!), but stayed an hour past his intended ten minutes, and even had a good look at our Espresso Book Machine afterwards!
More pictures of past events can be found on our Flickr page.

And finally, Tiemen was part of the ABC crew that manned our stand at this year’s Elfia/Elf Fantasy Fair in Haarzuilens this past weekend. He updated our Twitter feed with pictures that need sharing here, too! What fantastic costumes.
