The Winter Prescription

booky-wook.jpgPersonally I find the time after Christmas, just before Spring really starts properly, to be the most depressing time of the year. The excitement for Christmas is over and the decorations are back in storage, but the nights are still cold and long and Spring seems like miles away. During this period it is essential to cheer oneself up. For me this entails singing Dolly Parton songs at the top of my lungs, going to the movies just to see Jonathan Rhys Meyers or any other movie hunk, having an extra facial, an afternoon tea with lots of scones and of course reading.

And no depressing books are read in this season: only funny, laughing out loud, tears running down your cheek books. These murky days are the time to bring in the professionals. The professional comedians that is.
