Here’s a thought: video games are the future of books. I’m an avid World of Warcraft player and I think he has a very valid point. Not that he mentions WoW, but many games are as dependent on storyline as on graphics and playability. What say you?
All you Stephenie Meyer fans (I’m in the process of joining you): Breaking Dawn, the fourth installment of the Twilight series , will be out in stores on August 2nd. Also, a movie of Twilight, the first part, is being shot as we speak. It stars Kristen Stewart (Panic Room, Into the Wild, Jumper) as Isabella and Robert Pattinson (Cedric Diggory in the Harry Potter movies) as Edward, and should reach this country in January 2009.
Speaking of adaptations, in October Confessions of a Shopaholic (also known as The Secret Dreamworld of a Shopaholic) should hit movie theaters here, with Isla Fisher and Hugh Dancy in the leads. I’m sure that’ll thrill the legion of Sophie Kinsella fans. By the way, did you know that Sophie Kinsella is actually a pseudonym? She’s really called Madeleine Wickham, and she has also written books under that name.
