…so many of you raved about our last Return of The Books By Weight Sale in July 2011 that we couldn’t resist.
So over two weekends at our two locations, you can load up your suitcase with enough reads to last you through winter and into spring! Just select the books you want, walk up to the scale and pay €5 a kilo!
At that price, and with so many great titles on offer, you’re going to need some help getting your haul home – so tweet, e-mail and call all your friends and invite them to join you for this great sale. And then you can rope them into helping you carry your books. We’ll see you there with wheelie carts and sturdy ABC postman bags!
One slight but very important note: sadly you can’t just pick any book in the stores for this sale – then we’d definitely not make it to 2021! Only the books at the ABC Treehouse and the ABC Treehut, where the sales will be held, can be chosen. Rest assured that we’ve tried to find something for everyone, and that the selection at each store/weekend will be different!
Win the cost of your books back!
Keep your receipt, and tweet us a pic of your haul – we’ll enter you into a draw to win the cost of your books back in ABC gift certificates! (Don’t forget to include ‘@wwwabcnl’ in your tweet so we can see you!) The closing date for entries is Wednesday February 1st at 10am.
Please note that the ABC Discount Card does not give you an additional 10% discount on this particular sale.

*Some of you will recall the famous Sale by Weight events on the 3rd floor of the Kalverstraat store back in the late 80’s.Wasn’t that fun? We did it again in the Voetboogstraat when it was called The Book Bar, where we sold hotdogs and brownies as well. No, we can’t do that again, but those foods are now easily bought all over town. Books offered for sale by weight are still pretty scarce.
