A library in Stony Stratford successfully urged its patrons to check out every book to protest UK government plans to cut down library funds.

Incredibly, and I’m still not sure whether to take it seriously or not, the Slate features an entire article devoted to what typographical etiquette prescribes as the right way – only one space after a full stop, not two. Sorry, I’m so used to typing two that I’d have to cut my fingers off before they got used to typing just one; I’ll just resign myself to being wrong.
After The Wheel of Time, James Bond, and The Hitchhiker’s Guide, Sherlock Holmes is set to return to new adventures. Anthony Horowitz has been asked to write a new full-length novel featuring the detective. ETA September.
