Simone: Testimony by Anita Shreve (look for her review here in a few weeks when the book is out!) and Look at Me by Anita Brookner.
Michael, the newbie in Den Haag: Caves of Steel by Isaac Asimov and Malcolm X: By Any Means Necessary by Walter Dean Myers.
Ester: The Gun Seller by Hugh Laurie (great humor and style; you can hear him tell the story) and I Luv Halloween vol. 1 by Keith Giffen and Benjamin Roman (horror-humor manga).
Sophie: Double Take by Catherine Coulter (she’s very good – she knows how to max the suspense in the plot, and I’m looking forward to where all the threads are taking me) and Iron Council by China Miéville (his third book set in the Bas-Lag world; again it’s a wonderful, if challenging, read).

Hi Sophie: if you like China’s books you should definitely read Un Lun Dun as well. Not set in Bas-Lag, but such an inventive and exciting read! And his short stories collection is great too!
