(Due to a severely jet-lagged brain on my part, this wasn’t published last week.  Egad!  And it’s from my section, too.  Apologies to Ester and all of you, too :-)   Sophie )

Confessions of a Shopaholic: directed by P.J. Hogan and starring Isla Fisher, Hugh Dancy, Krysten Ritter, John Goodman, Joan Cusak, John Lithgow & Kristin Scott Thomas.

This film is an adaptation of two of the books in the Shopaholic series by Sophie Kinsella: The Secret Dreamworld of a Shopaholic (in the US known as Confessions of a Shopaholic) and Shopaholic Abroad (in the US known as Shopaholic Takes Manhattan).

Rebecca Bloomwood moves to Manhattan with two purposes: shop ’till she drops and getting involved in the New York City magazine scene. During one of her shopping spurs she sees a beautiful green scarf, only she doesn’t have enough money to buy it and borrows money from a man on the street. That man is Luke Brandon, the son of the famous socialite Eleonor Sherman, Rebecca later finds out.
How will Rebecca cope in the expensive world of fashion and the fast pace world of magazines?
