(My NaNo wordcount: 46392)

Another week, another post of the year’s favorites.

This time it’s Martijn (El Capitan, Film & TV, Hip & Hype, Humor, Magazines, Science, and Sport buyer, The Hague), Michael (Pool Person, Future Mickey Mouse, The Hague) and Nicki (IT Diva) who – succinctly – post their year’s best.

After the jump, of course.

SimoneTestimony by Anita Shreve (look for her review here in a few weeks when the book is out!) and Look at Me by Anita Brookner.

Michael, the newbie in Den Haag:  Caves of Steel by Isaac Asimov and Malcolm X: By Any Means Necessary by Walter Dean Myers.

EsterThe Gun Seller by Hugh Laurie (great humor and style; you can hear him tell the story) and I Luv Halloween vol. 1 by Keith Giffen and Benjamin Roman (horror-humor manga).

SophieDouble Take by Catherine Coulter (she’s very good – she knows how to max the suspense in the plot, and I’m looking forward to where all the threads are taking me) and Iron Council by China Miéville (his third book set in the Bas-Lag world; again it’s a wonderful, if challenging, read).
